TOPAZ SPA JEWEL SHORLISTED FOR TOP EUROPEAN AWARD

 

Set in 160 acres of lush parkland, the new Seafield Hotel and Oceo Spa described as Ireland’s ‘spa jewel,’ has been shorlisted for Europe’s most prestigious spa award – European Spa of the Year at this year’s Professional Spa Awards.

 

The €60m project has been a model of cooperation utilising experts from many different European countries. Owned by David Cullen, the hotel was designed by an Italian architect with interiors by Dublin-based interior designer John Henry Boyle. But, at the heart of the project since day one has been UK-based Topaz Consulting, specialist spa consultants.

 

According to Seafield Director Rita Barcoe the objective was to create the best spa in Ireland.  Spa consultants are now an essential part of most spa projects especially large 1,500 sqm projects like Oceo. Rita Barcoe states that “Ireland now offers so many fabulous spas, we knew we needed to do much more. We wanted a contemporary, comfortable and sexy design and recognised that we were spending too much money to make mistakes so it was also time to call in the professionals. We met with Topaz and everything they said to us made sense.” Topaz Consulting was then appointed as spa consultants to the project.
